Say Hello to Barokas Communications

As many of you know, we celebrated our 20th birthday at the end of September – that’s a lot of candles to blow out! While 20 years sounds like a long time, it’s flown by more quickly than I ever could have imagined. I attribute this in a large part to working with clients in the tech industry and the pace at which tech has changed (and continues to change) the communications industry. I could go on and on about lessons learned over this time, but we’ll save that for another post. On to our news!

To celebrate our 20-year milestone and the next phase of our agency, we are excited to announce that we are evolving our name to Barokas Communications and rolling out a new visual identity.

First, some background on our name. Over the last several years we have expanded our service offerings beyond public relations to include strategy and execution for social campaigns, influencer relations and content. To represent this broader footprint, we decided to change the second half of our name from “Public Relations” to “Communications.” This name better reflects the current set of services provided by the agency and gives us room to grow into new areas down the road.

On the visual identity front, we decided to go in a different direction and start the design process from scratch. While our old logo served as a great conversation starter, our goal was to introduce a visual identity that showcases how the agency has progressed over the years.

It was important to us that a new logo carry on our chief characteristics – bold, direct, transparent – but in a more modern way. Our goal was to show, not tell, clients, partners and job candidates what we’re all about. After much exploration, we decided to have our logo focus on words and letters vs. an icon, as language is the very foundation of the work we provide to our clients. Best of all, our new visual identity is something that will represent us well across all of the industries in which we work – enterprise tech, consumer tech, B2B, and lifestyle.

With that, we are proud to introduce Barokas Communications and our new identity to the world. We hope you like it as much as we do.
