Our Approach

Flywheel Sports, a leading boutique fitness brand, provides results-driven classes at 43 studios across the United States. Flywheel offers a high-intensity indoor cycling experience in a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. Each studio features a stadium-style format with unique leaderboards that add a fun, competitive element to every class. Flywheel Sports partnered with Barokas Communications to drive brand awareness and sales leads for the opening of Flywheel Sports in Denver, it’s very first Colorado location.

We generated local buzz for the studio opening with a multi-phased media and influencer approach that included exclusive media and influencer events, in-studio broadcast features, and local community activations. Through the events and media coverage, Barokas Communications broke into Denver’s heavily saturated fitness scene and established Flywheel Union Station as a leading in door cycling and precision training studio in Colorado.

To raise awareness and excitement around the studio ahead of its opening, we planned and executed a series called “Fitness on the Fly,” partnering with local community spaces like the Denver Flea, Red Rocks Amphitheater and 10 Barrel Brewery  to host public classes around Denver prior to the opening of the studio.

As a new local studio, it was critical to engage the right reporters, influencers and bloggers prior to the launch. Barokas Communications organized “Fly with Media,” an exclusive class for local media and fitness and lifestyle influencers one week before the official opening of the studio. The media event provided exclusive access to the studio before the public unveiling with an intimate class taught by nationally known Flywheel instructor, and a Q&A with Flywheel’s CEO and CMO.

More than 25 local fitness influencers and media took part in the Fly with Media event, sharing the experience with their social followers. In addition, Barokas Communications secured nearly 20 pieces of coverage for the launch, including 303 Magazine, 5280 Magazine, 9News, Denver Business Journal, and a grand opening feature with the Denver FOX affiliate.
